WOOD PLASTIC METAL
Wood Plastic Metal is a collection of three tables exploring the relationship between different materials. Each table highlights the unique characteristics and properties of the materials used to create them. All three tables are digitally manufactured.
WOOD
Wood was made using CNC. the parts slot together perfectly, and then are locked in place through the use of flat head screws and threaded inserts.
plastic
Plastic was made through laser cutting. The legs are made of laser-cut discs welded on extruded acrylic tubing.
I had to create my own tool in order to secure the legs to the top through nuts and bolts.
metal
metal is made out of cold rolled steel. it was plasma cut and bent on a finger brake to specific angles to give it the shape it has. the sections were then attached together with rivets.
after modeling I unfolded the model to create a pattern for plasma cutting and bending
